In 2016 we won the UK Social Enterprise 'Consumer Facing Award'. Since our win, our ethical business has grown to enable us to support more vulnerable children across the world. This culminated in the announcement in November 2017 of our new charity partnership with international charity Street Child, doubling the number of children we now support.
A large way we have grown our mission-led business is the winning of new corporate clients for our parental leave service. By winning the UK Social Enterprise award we were able to utilise the expansive network that Social Enterprise UK has, enabling us to partner with businesses that have strong corporate social responsibility programmes and have supportive HR departments that assist working parents. Connecting with other award-winning social enterprises on the night of the awards and beyond has allowed us to win new clients in a reciprocal relationship encouraging our pre-existing clients to continue to buy social.
Furthermore, the prestige associated with the awards has helped build the strength of our purpose-led brand in all of our markets. Assisting us to be stocked in independent boutiques across the world and in household names such a Fortnum & Mason.
The Social Enterprise UK awards are the industry leading awards for social enterprises. Each year the award’s acknowledge the best of social enterprise in the UK in many different categories.
In this short video, our founder Cecilia Crossley, as well as other recipients of the award’s describe how winning has helped social enterprises grow their business.
