Mariam is Head of the Global Learning and Development Center UNHCR, responsible for learning, career management, performance management, leadership/people management and staff engagement.

Previously Mariam held the role of Chief of Talent Development at UNDP. She has spent 17 years working in the UN including UNICEF and UNFPA in the areas of organisational development, change management, digital transformation, career engagement, well-being, knowledge management, and leadership development.

Mariam has also worked outside of Human Resources including UNDP’s Executive Office. She is an HR leader who brings strong experience in building partnerships with the UN, private sector and academia.

Mariam holds a doctorate in Educational Technology from Concordia University, Canada.
